On behalf of the Board, we acknowledge that York Region is located on the traditional territory of many Indigenous peoples including the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, Huron-Wendat and Métis peoples and the treaty territories of the Haudenosaunee, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and Williams Treaties First Nations.

Today this area is home to many diverse Indigenous Peoples, and we recognize their history, spirituality, culture and stewardship of this land.

We also acknowledge the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation as our closest First Nation community

  • RECOMMENDATION
    1. That the Board approve the in-kind donation of the lease of a 2022 Lexus GX 460 vehicle from the Aviva Insurance Company of Canada pursuant to the Police Service Board’s Donation and Sponsorship Policy No. 02/01.

  • RECOMMENDATION
    1. That the Board approve a disbursement from the Public Relations Fund for the upcoming Region in Rhythm event being hosted jointly by The Regional Municipality of York and York Regional Police on November 7, 2024, in support of the United Way Greater Toronto.

  • RECOMMENDATION
    1. That the Board approve the proposed 2025 schedule for regular meetings of the York Regional Police Service Board and Board training and education sessions attached as Appendix A.

  • RECOMMENDATION
    1. That the Board approve the following disbursement from the Board’s Public Relations Fund, as detailed in this report:
      1. $5,000 to the Ontario Association of Police Services Boards for the 2024 Labour Conference.

    That the Board approve a one-time donation of 300 confiscated clothing items to chosen charities within York Region.

Motion to convene in Private Meeting for the purpose of considering confidential items pertaining to legal and personnel matters in accordance with section 44(2) of the Community Safety and Policing Act.
