Indigenous Land Acknowledgement

On behalf of the Board, we acknowledge that York Region is located on the traditional territory of many Indigenous peoples including the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, Huron-Wendat and Métis peoples and the treaty territories of the Haudenosaunee, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and Williams Treaties First Nations.

Today this area is home to many diverse Indigenous Peoples, and we recognize their history, spirituality, culture and stewardship of this land.

We also acknowledge the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation as our closest First Nation community

Public Relations Reserve Fund – Requests for Funding - Report of the Executive Director

• RECOMMENDATIONS
  1. That the Board approve the following disbursements from the Board’s Public Relations Fund, as detailed in this report:
     1. $5,000 from the Board’s Public Relations Fund in support of Ontario Women in Law Enforcement; and
     2. $10,000 from the Board’s Public Relations Fund in support of the Canadian Association of Police Governance; and
     3. $10,000 from the Board’s Public Relations Fund in support of the Ontario Association of Police Services Boards.
  2. That the Board approve that future support of the OAPSB and CAPG police governance events be included in the Board’s operating budget.

Missing Persons Act, 2018

• RECOMMENDATION

  1. That the Board receive this annual report and forward the attachment, Ontario Solicitor General, Annual Report Template, to the Ministry of the Solicitor General in accordance with O. Reg. 182/19.
