Order-in-Council, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, approved and ordered on October 20, 2022, appointing Mario Cortellucci as a member of the Regional Municipality of York Police Services Board for a three-year term.

Consideration and Adoption of Reports

8.1

Purchasing Bylaw Quarterly Report

• RECOMMENDATION

  1. That the Board receive this quarterly report pursuant to the Purchasing Bylaw 10-17 quarterly reporting requirements.

8.2

Direct Purchase of Semi-Automatic Pistols

• RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the Board approve a direct purchase for the purchase and supply of Glock model 45 9mm semi-automatic pistols from Rampart International Corp. at a total cost not to exceed $1,160,000 plus applicable taxes, for a term up to five years; and
  2. That the Chief of Police be authorized to execute the contract subject to the approval of the Regional Municipality of York’s Regional Solicitor, or designate, as to form and content.

Amended Service Fees and Charges

• RECOMMENDATION

  1. That the Board receive this biennial report pursuant to the Board’s Bylaw 02-15 reporting requirements, and to replace the existing Schedule “A” with Schedule “A” attached.

8.4

Public Complaint Regarding Services Provided by York Regional Police

• RECOMMENDATION

  1. That the Board receive this report in accordance with sections 31(1)(j) and 63(4) of the Police Services Act and paragraph 3.3 of Board By-Law No. 01-11 respecting the Administration of the Complaints System under Part V of the Police Services Act.

Committee Report on Anti-Black Racism and Building Community Trust in Policing  - Report of the Executive Director

• RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the Board receive the attached report and approve the recommendations as outlined in the report.
  2. That the Board develop an implementation strategy and action plan to support the recommendations.

8.6

Community Safety and Well-Being Plan Nomination to the Human Services Planning Board - Report of the Executive Director

• RECOMMENDATION
  1. That the Board nominate a representative to the Human Services Planning Board of York Region which acts as the Advisory Committee for the preparation and development of the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan;
  2. That the Executive Director advise Regional Council of the Board’s nomination for Council’s approval.
